MAC East Africa & Isuzu East Africa has donated UGX. 80M (Eighty million Uganda shillings) towards the COVID-19 response efforts in Uganda. This donation, made to the Ministry of Health (Covid-19 Task Force) on April 16th, 2020, at
the Ministry Headquarters in Kampala, supports ongoing measures to fight the pandemic and accelerate efforts in stopping the spread of the virus. MAC EA Ltd, the official Isuzu dealer for Uganda, is part of AL Mansour Group, who are leading distributors for many brands such as Isuzu, Chevrol
et, GMC, Cadillac & AC Delco along with Opel, Peugeot & MG in the following countries Egypt, Iraq, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, and many other African countries. “The Government and Ministry of Health are doing exceptional efforts of leading and managing this global crisis & need all support in order to continue doing great work in conquering this pandemic and keeping us all safe. The funds will support food distribution in the country, facilitate protective gear for health workers and a
ssist in the daily operations of the Ministry,” said Mohamad Khadr, Country General Manager, of MAC East Africa & Mantra EA Ltd. Mr. Khadr added, "As an organization, we are committed to ensuring that our staff stay safe and extend a helping hand to the community we operate in and urged the community at large to stand together with the Government in fighting against Covid-19.” He also reminded the public to observe the Ministry of Health’s and other government guidelines in managing and preventing the disease. “Let’s keep up the fight by washing our hands with soap and water often, Stay Home and Stay Safe,” he said. As of
April 16th, 2020, Uganda’s confirmed Covid-19 cases stood at 55. Twenty (20) of these have been treated and declared disease-free after testing negative twice for the disease. Cumulatively, 7,693 people have been tested.
